THERE'S just a few days left to see who might be holding a lucky winning ticket.

Prizes totaling $20,000 remained unclaimed for the Mega Millions lottery and players are risking forfeiting all their prize money.

They're both set to set to expire next month and Iowa residents should pay extra close attention.

There are two Mega Millions prizes going for $10,000 a piece and there's still some time left to claim.

The first was purchased in Dubuque at a Kwik Star gas station off of 2035 John F Kennedy Road.

The victorious numbers are 1, 3, 6, 44, 51, and a Mega Millions number of 7.

The ticket owner has until January 2, 2024 to cash in their prize.

The second one was bought in Northwood from a Jo Stop convenience store off of 828 B 471ST Street.

This prize will expire on January 24, 2024.

In this case, the ticker numbers to look for are 5, 10, 28, 52, 63, and a Mega Millions number of 18.

GAME RULES

Mega Millions started out back in 1996.

Numbers are drawn for the game every Tuesday and Friday.

Players pick a six number combination out of five white balls and one golden ball, hoping it aligns with the lottery drawing.

The first set of five numbers are between one and 70, while the Mega Millions number gets picked from one to 25.

Players can earn a quick buck by simply matching the mega ball with their mega ball number.

But to win a serious jackpot, players are hoping for a match made in heaven.

Matching all six numbers results in two options: winners can either get annuity payments or request a lump-sum of the cash prize.

In Iowa, there's 60 days offered from the date the prize is claimed to decide between the cash and annuity option.

POWERBALL PRIZES

Powerball lottery players will also want to keep an eye out for unclaimed winnings.
